Uncleseekers in 10 days police lock-up (Part 3) - in Malay

Kabare wak...

Balai Polis Senawang

Selepas aku dihidangkan makanan yang aku pesan tadi, aku makan ubat sakit gigi jenama Hurix’s yang dibeli kat stesen Patron sebelum Tol  Sungai Besi semasa on the way ke Seremban 2.

Liputan media tentang Salim August 2006

Danzen & Synflex

Aku bawa beberapa anggota polis round satu rumah. Rumah yang bapak aku bina ni banyak pintu. Aku nampak dia orang pun macam pening sikit.

Lega rasanya. Selagi tak pecah selagi tu gusi berdenyut.

Sekitar jam 10 pagi kalau aku tak silap lah, seorang anggota polis lelaki memohon keizinan untuk menggari tangan aku. Aku takder hal sebab ni kali kedua tangan aku digari selepas aku membongkar penipuan Cakra Alam dan seorang anggota polis wanita pula meminta Siti Nadhirah menghulur tangannya untuk digari. Aku lihat air mata Siti Nadhirah berlinang...

Apa dosa Siti Nadhirah sampai digari?

Lokasi Penjara Reman Ayer Molek, Johor Bharu

Syed Hasan Al-Attas (1832-1932)

Lokap Air Molek ni terletak bersebelahan dengan jalan yang dinamakan bersempena dengan nama moyang aku iaitu Syed Hassan Alattas (lihat di bahagian utara peta di atas). Aku difahamkan bahawa lokap ini adalah lokap yang paling tak besh kat Johor Bharu. Sampai sahaja di pintu besi pertama lokap tu aku teringat kata-kata hikmah Mahatma Ghandi;

“Apabila anda benar, anda tak perlu marah. Apabila anda salah, anda tak boleh marah.”

Salam ...

Sebenarnya, pada 3-7-2012, hari Selasa, aku masih lagi kat Melaka melepak kat Chalet milik abang angkat aku yang dikenali sebagai Siti Selamat. (Nanti aku citer lebih lanjut kenapa nama dia buruk camtu). Chalet dia ni tak lah cantik sangat sekitar 1 bintang berhadapan dengan laut tapi keikhlasanya keluarganya yang aku paling kagum.

Petang Selasa kalau tak silap lah, aku ada contact Rusni kawan sekelas aku masa form 5 tahun 1983 kat Sekolah Aminuddin Baki, Johor Bahru. Kengkawan lama beritahu yang dia ni dah jadi pegawai besar kat SPRM Johor. Sejak habis jer sekolah aku langsung tak pernah jumpa atau tengok muka dia sampailah aku kena tahan kat tol Senawang. Aku call dia sebab nak minta nasihat sebab aku ada dokumen penting nak serahkan kat pejabat SPRM di Putrajaya.

Masa tu kalau tak silap dia kata on the way nak balik rumah second wife dia kat N9. Aku cakap kat dia singgahlah kat Melaka jumpa aku dulu tapi dia beri alasan dah sampai Seremban.

Telefon aku

Seperti biasa rutin hidup berpuluh tahun, aku hanya akan melelapkan mata selepas waktu FAJAR. Kalau tak silap aku, sekitar pukul 8 pagi samada aku ada SMS atau call nak tanya dia camner dengan temujanji tapi tiada sebarang balasan. Waktu petang sekali lagi aku call tapi dia tak angkat. Aku dah mula hangen! Aku SMS dia adakah dia ni JUJUR dan AMANAH menggalas jawatan membanteras RASUAH. Dia masih tak jawab SMS aku. Beberapa minit kemudia aku call dia dan dia MENJAWAB panggilan aku

Beb, jangan cakap camtu..

Nada suaranya agak kurang selesa selepas kena sound tepek sms tadi!

Yelah, aku tepon ko tak angkat! Camner appoiment hari ini?”

Dia minta aku jumpa kat Jaya Jusco Seremban 2 selepas pukul 7 malam sebab dia nak shopping dulu.

Aku bersama awekz aku Siti Nadhirah sampai Seremban sekitar 9.00 malam kalau tak silap.

Aku bertanya.

Beb lu kat maner?” sambil mata aku melilau mencarinya.

Pandang kanan beb.”

Aku cuba mencari kawan aku tadi tapi keretanya disebelah hujung sana.

Hati kecil aku berkata..

Padanlah dia missed call aku sampai 11 kali...

Dan kata-katanya “Beb, dia sultan kita...” masih terngiang-ngiang di telinga aku...

(Bersambung...)

14 Gifts to Those Who Fast

by Shaykh `Aa'id Abdullah al-Qarnee

At this stage I cannot find a better gift or greater masterpiece than to present to those who fast gifts from the Prophet of guidance sallallahu `alaihi wa sallam. They are those practical hadiths that have been mentioned in connection with rewards and blessings. Behold! They are the hadiths that lead to the doors of happiness and the paths of goodness in this world and the Hereafter.
O you who fast! Record these hadiths and implement them:

1. The Prophet sallallahu `alaihi wa sallam said: "Whoever says at daybreak: 'There is no God save Allah alone, He has no partner, to Him belongs the dominion and the praise and He has power over all things;'... ten good deeds will be written for him, ten misdeeds will be erased, and he will be elevated ten levels. He will be protected from Satan until evening, and if he says it in the evening, he would have the same rewards until morning." (Ahmad, Abu Daud, Ibn Majah - sahih).

2. The Prophet sallallahu `alaihi wa sallam also said: "Whoever says in the morning or in the evening: 'O Allah! You are my Lord. There is no God beside You. You created me and I am Your slave and I have taken a covenant to You and promised You what I am able to do. I seek refuge with You from the evil of what I have done, I acknowledge Your favour upon me and I acknowledge my sin. Forgive me because none forgives sins except You.' If a servant died during the day or night after having said this prayer, he will enter Paradise." (Ahmad, Abu Daud, Al Nisa'e, Ibn Majah, Ibn Hibban, Al Hakim - sahih; Al Bukhari transmits another version of this hadith).

3. Again the Prophet sallallahu `alaihi wa sallam said: "Whoever says at morning or evening: 'Glory and praise be Allah the Great' one hundred times, no one will come forward on the Day of Judgement with better than he; except if someone said the same as him and added to it." (Muslim, Ahmad, Abu Daud, Al Tirmidhi).

4. "Whoever said: 'Glory and praise be to Allah the Great', a date tree will be planted for him in the Paradise." (Al Tirmidhi, Ibn Hibban, Al Hakim - sahih).

5. "Whoever says: "Glory and praise be to Allah" one hundred times in a single day his sins would be erased even if they were like the waves of the sea." (Bukhari and Muslim).

6. "Whoever implements ten verses of the Quran will not be included among the negligent. Whoever implements one hundred verses will be considered among the obedient. And, whoever implements one thousand verses will be among he extremely rich." (Abu Daud, Ibn Hibban - sahih).

7. "Whoever says in the evening: 'In the name of Allah with whose name there can be no harm in the earth or in the heavens and He is the Hearer the Knower,' three times, he will not be afflicted with a sudden calamity before morning. And whoever says it in the morning three times will not be afflicted with a sudden calamity before evening." (Abu Daud, Ibn Hibban, Al Hakim - sahih).

8. "Whoever says: 'I seek refuge with the perfect words of Allah from the evil that He created' three times in the evening will not be harmed by the bite of a serpent during that night." (Al Tirmidhi, Ibn Hibban, Al Hakim - sahih).

9. "Whoever says upon leaving his house: 'In the name of Allah, I trust in Allah, there is no movement and no power except with Allah', it would be said to him: 'You have been contented and you took precaution,' and Satan will turn away from him." (Al Tirmidhi, Abu Daud, Ibn Hibban, Ibn al Sunni - sahih).

10. "Whoever says when he hears the caller to prayer: 'And I bear witness that there is no God save Allah, He is alone and has no partner and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger. I am pleased with Allah as Lord, Muhammad as Prophet and Islam as religion,' all his sins will be forgiven." (Muslim and the other five).

11. "Whoever recites the Surah al Ikhlas ten times, Allah will build for him a house in the Paradise." (Ahmad - sahih).

12. "Whoever recites the Surah al Kahf on a Friday, a light will be created for him until the next Friday." (Al Hakim and Al Bayhaqi - sahih).

13. "Whoever recites Aayat al-Kursi (the Verse of the Throne) after every compulsory prayer will not be forbidden entrance to Paradise." (Ibn Hibban and Al Nisa'e - sahih).

14. "Whoever recites Surah al Ikhlas it is as if he read one-third of the Quran." (Ahmad, Al Nisa'e, Al Tirmidhi - sahih).

This bouquet from Muhammad sallallahu `alaihi wa sallam we grant to all those who fast.
O Allah! Help us to remember You, thank You and worship You in the best way. Ameen.

Pahang-Selangor raw water supply scheme costs less than Opposition alleges

PUTRAJAYA, - The cost of the Pahang-Selangor Raw Water Supply Scheme, which includes the Langat 2 Water Treatment Plant project is estimated at RM6.225 billion and not RM8.56 billion as alleged by the opposition, said Energy, Green Technology and Water minister Datuk Seri Peter Chin Fah Kui.
He said the project included the construction of a tunnel and intake point from Pahang to Sungai Langat at RM2.481 billion, which was half completed.
The Langat 2 project, estimated at RM3.744 billion, would be opened for tender in a month's time, he added.
"The cost of the Pahang-Selangor Raw Water Supply Scheme is actually much lower than what the opposition is claiming. They should not confuse the public with inaccurate information and figures," he told reporters after a gathering with the ministry and agencies' staff here.
He also rectified Selangor Menteri Besar, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim's claim that the 34 water treatment plants in Selangor were capable of producing up to 4,809 million litres a day.

Malaysians recoil with SHOCK & ANGER at Rafizi's arrest: 2 main targets

M'sians recoil with SHOCK & ANGER at Rafizi's arrest: 2 main targets
News of the arrest of PKR strategy director Rafizi Ramli has shocked Malaysians, who have reacted angrily to the news. Among the most cited reasons for their anger was why should Rafizi, who was trying to expose corruption, be penalized while the wrongdoers were let off.
Indeed, corruption-tainted Prime Minister Najib Razak may have opened a new can of worms for himself. Already embattled and facing pressure from possible loss in general elections due to be called latest by April next year, many believe he was out to "scaremonger" his way through.
His two main targets are believed to be whistle blowers - many of whom come from the investment and financial community - so that they will stop exposing the misdeeds of his Umno-BN coalition.
The second target are politicians - including from his own government. Leaders from the Pakatan Rakyat opposition do not expect another crackdown like the Operations Lalang effected by former premier Mahathir Mohamad against political rivals in the 1980s.
However, they do not discount the possibility that Najib was also trying to scare BN leaders who have begun defecting to the opposition amid rising concern at Umno's growing extremism as the 13th general election neared.
From leaders
Anwar Ibrahim, Opposition Leader
Applaud his courage on the Cow-Condo case and GeorgeKent involvg dSNajib! .
Tian Chua, PKR MP for Batu
No, we don't expect Ops Lalang. That would be political suicide for Najib and he knows it. This is another ill-advised stunt to discourage whistle blower from coming forward. It is  real shame for Malaysia's image to investors, who are watching closely. We also see him trying to warn BN leaders who are switching out from his coalition that they can expect rough and tough action like this. But he has missed the pulse of the nation. Everyone is fed up and this latest arrest only confirms the need to change the current regime.
Nurul Izzah, PKR MP for Lembah Pantai
Despite expose, despite arrest, despite being charged, George Kent prevails. Shame on you
Shamsul Iskandar Akin, PKR Youth chief
Shahrizat's family, when? RT
Hannah Yeoh, DAP assemblywoman for Subang Jaya
Woke up to news of @rafiziramli being arrested by police. We stand by you
Ambiga Sreenevasan, co-chairman of the Bersih movement for clean polls
The nation is watching! We stand by those brave enough to expose wrongdoing and condemn those who suppress the truth!
Dzulkefly Ahmad, PAS MP for Kuala Selangor
We knew it was coming but why the sudden rushed timing. Was it coincidental with the George Kent news? This is Ramadan, a fasting ad holy month to observe restraint and righteousness. But Umno seems so desperate it is committing blunder after blunder. We also note that such hypocritical action is coming from Najib who has been promising reforms and a clean government.
From Netizens
very very angry rakyat
This is so damn WRONG SO WRONG !!! Rakyat Malaysia , terutamanya saudara dan saudari dari luar bandar tolonglah tengok dengan mata sendiri is this the govt that you wanna cast your vote on ?? Jom mulakan kempen "" BEBAKAN RAFIZI , Hero Rakyat !!! "'
Change
What do you expect from a Third Country like Malaysia. The person who reported the crime get arrested but the criminal got off free. Remember the ex CM of Melaka case!!!!!!!!!!
Susie
Stupidest thing for Najib to do. The whole nation loves Rafizi for his courage in exposing the corrupt at the top level... God is with those who are righteous too. Keep on doing what is right, everyone!
LEE
WE ARE WITH U , RAFIZI !! BE STRONG !!
TANNER
Trying to do the Mahathir? Equivalent of Operation Lalang? More arrests of oppositions. People realise Mahathir's authoritarianism, stupidity and vanity after he retires. But they could see Najib's authoritarianism, stupidity and vanity now.

Rafizi charged under banking law

Rafizi and former Public Bank employee Johari Mohamad will be back to the court for a mention hearing on Sept 10.
FULL REPORT
PETALING JAYA: PKR strategy director Rafizi Ramli was charged at the Shah Alam Sessions Court this morning for revealing confidential banking details in relation to the NFC scandal.
He was charged under section 97(1) of the Banks and Financial Institutions Act (BAFIA) which carries a maximum jail sentence of three years and a RM3 million in fine.
He has allegedly breached the secrecy provisions of the Act by producing, divulging, revealing, publishing or otherwise disclosing, of any information or document whatsoever relating to the affairs or account of a banking customer.
Rafizi pleaded not guilty and was granted bail at RM15,000 with one bailor. Judge Aslam Zainuddin fixed Sept 10 to mention the case.
Rafizi was represented by N Surendran and Puspawati Rosman while the prosecution was led by DPP Nahra Dollah and Normie Faizura Aminuddin.
He was earlier arrested this morning at the Hulu Klang police station after Bank Negara formally lodged a report against him. Earlier this morning the police raided his home and detained him.
“Here’s my 1st reaction at being arrested: Damn GeorgeKent. @NajibRazak must surely love his golf buddy to risk this public relations mess,” wrote Rafizi on his Twitter message.
PKR vice president and lawyer Surendran however confirmed that the arrest was in relation to Rafizi’s National Feedlot Centre exposure.
Meanwhile Rafizi also in a Twitter message said that one Johari Mohamad would also be jointly charged.
Johari, a former employee of Public Bank, was also charged under the BAFIA law for allegedly revealing banking documents of a customer to Rafizi.
He too claimed trial and has been released on a RM15,000 bail.
DAP: Government exacting revenge
In an immediate reaction, DAP publicity chief Tony Pua said the case filed against Rafizi marked a serious blow to Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak’s anti-corruption credentials.
He added that this further undermining the underperforming Anti-Corruption National Key Result Area (NKRA) in the Government Transformation Programme (GTP)
“Rafizi has been charged for allegedly breaching the Banking and Financial Institution Act when he exposed some of the worst abuses by National Feedlot Corporation (NFC).
“Rafizi has led the charge to expose a long list of wrong-doings by the company and its directors, who are the husband and children of Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, the recently resigned Minister of Women, Family and Community Development.  Shahrizat is still the Umno Women’s wing chief
“Despite the overwhelming evidence exposed to date, only Shahrizat’s husband, Mohamad Salleh has been brought to court, and even then only on two 2 key charges – for misappropriating RM40 million of NFC’s money, and for acquiring 2 units of luxury condominium in One Menerung, Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur for RM13.5 million,” he said in a statement.
Pua added that the authorities had failed to act on Rafizi’s exposes, and instead of pursuing the culprits who have abused the RM250 million government soft loan extended to NFC, “the government has chosen to exact revenge on the whistle-blower Rafizi”.

Why Sabah must take itself back… without PKR

Anwar Ibrahim making Azmin Ali Sabah PKR leader was pretty much the biggest clue that PKR does not understand the local populace. It is fairly apparent that PKR practises the Malay-centric mentality that Umno preaches. It is simple; for all its bluster, PKR is just Umno in opposition colours. And Umno and its Malay-dominance ethos is the last thing Sabah needs.
Erna Mahyuni, The Malaysian Insider
Somewhere in Putrajaya, the damage control machinery is going into overdrive.
It would explain why Barisan Nasional (BN) was desperate enough to have one of the least-qualified politicians comment on the two Sabah MPs leaving BN, namely MCA’s president.
Last I heard, MCA is hardly a force to reckon with in the state. Dr Chua Soi Lek? Really, BN?
Before the PKR fanboys start celebrating a “wave of change”, I foresee one thing not changing: PKR’s foothold in the state.
It is far more likely that Sabah politicians will decide to stay within locally-formed parties such as SAPP and UPKO rather than join PKR, DAP or, least likely, PAS.
That is the smartest thing to do because let’s be frank: Neither BN nor Pakatan have Sabahans’ best interests at heart. All Sabah is to them is a pocket of votes, a ticket to claiming Putrajaya.
PKR in its dealings with Sabah and Sarawak have made it clear that they do not understand the local populace and, like Umno, have the same rigid mentality towards race and religion.
Anwar Ibrahim making Azmin Ali Sabah PKR leader was pretty much the biggest clue that PKR does not understand the local populace. It is fairly apparent that PKR practises the Malay-centric mentality that Umno preaches.
If it wasn’t so, then DAP wouldn’t have a reason to exist now, would it? If PKR is truly the inclusive party it claims to be, why should Chinese opposition politicians choose DAP over PKR?
It is simple; for all its bluster, PKR is just Umno in opposition colours. And Umno and its Malay-dominance ethos is the last thing Sabah needs.
Should more Sabah politicians decide to eschew BN, they would be better off forming their own coalitions and “work with” Pakatan.
The problem here is that Anwar and the rest of PKR are still delusional about their chances in the state, unwilling to give ground.
Anwar probably dreams of installing a PKR member as chief minister, where things will probably still remain status quo. Anwar’s government will continue to beggar Sabah’s resources, live off its oil royalties and parcel out contracts as “rewards” to his faithful.  Just like Umno.
Allow Sabah more autonomy or self-governance? If Anwar couldn’t give that to Sabah PKR, he wouldn’t give it to Sabah under Pakatan rule.
Sabah PKR is now mostly made up of politicians with very little influence, adept only at being Anwar’s yes-men. Because Anwar is, like most Umno-ilk politicians, more keen on hearing what he wants to hear than what he needs to hear.
Umno will probably still keep the state as the vote will most likely be so split among opposition politicians that BN candidates would win by sheer luck. Or with the help of “new” citizens.
The smartest thing for Sabah BN politicians tired of BN’s empty promises would be just to repeat the 1994 elections and defect right after winning their respective seats.
After all, Sabah created the “frog” phenomenon of jumping whenever they feel like it and at the worst (read: most crucial) moments.
Perhaps for once, Sabah’s politicians will be “frogs” for the right reasons and make a real leap towards taking the state back for its people.
But seeing as Sabah politicians have shown themselves to be mostly self-serving individuals who have no problems signing away our oil rights and Labuan... I’m not very optimistic.
But I would dearly love to be proven wrong.
