Najib tells Umno members to earn God's blessing

Prime Minister Najib Razak today advised Umno members to pursue the party's struggle in an organised manner, saying this would help earn God's blessings.

Najib, who is also Umno president, said it was important for Umno leaders and members to ask themselves what they should do to receive the blessings of God.

"God will love us if we strive in an organised manner. We have to administer with efficiency and systematically, and work hard as well.

"As long as we do not strive in an organised manner, God will not give his blessings for our struggle," he said when opening the Pekan Umno division delegates meeting.

"If we aspire for success, we have to act in an organised manner, as a party, as a structured building; then, we will garner victory in the next general election," he said.
Najib said Umno members should be grateful that the party's struggle hitherto in championing the nation had received God's blessings.

Since its inception 66 years ago, Umno had been receiving the blessings of God to strive for the nation's prosperity over the last 55 years of its administration of the country.

"We are the most successful party in the world. Without being boastful and arrogant, we have to be grateful and humble that our successes have been with God's blessings," he said.

He said it was important for all Umno members to put aside self-interests and place the party's interests in championing the nation and religion above everything else.
Pekan did not miss out on development
On another matter, Najib, who is Pekan Umno division head, hit out at the opposition for alleging that the Pekan parliamentary constituency which he represented was isolated from mainstream development although the prime minister was its member of parliament.

"Some opposition leader came to Pekan alleging that there has been no development (in this constituency). They must be blind and deaf or they must be fork-tongued," he said.

The prime minister went on to list the various development projects valued at hundreds of millions of ringgit implemented in Pekan, among them the Kuantan-Pekan highway and infrastructure and educational projects.

Najib's wife, Rosmah Mansor, attended the event. Also present were 932 delegates from the 145 branches of the division.
