KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 14 ― More than just the Malaysian weather has the visiting Duke and Duchess of Cambridge hot under the collar, as news of topless photographs featuring Britain’s Catherine are said to have the royal duo steaming.
According to a report by British newspaper The Sun, the pictures published by a French magazine are of semi-nude Kate at a guest house from during a brief holiday she enjoyed with William in France last week.
The series of photographs spanning four pages, primarily of the young duchess, were accompanied by lurid captions such as “See incredible pictures of the future Queen of England as you’ve never seen her... and as you will never see her again!”
A UK palace representative told The Sun that the couple are “very angered” over the reported photographs and consider that a “red line has been crossed”.
“They’re saddened their privacy has been breached ― if it has been breached,” the spokesman continued, adding that the woman shown in the photographs could not be confirmed as Catherine due to the resolution of the images.
“We will talk to our lawyers in London and counterparts in Paris to see what options are available,” the person was quoted further in the report.
The British royal couple are currently on the second day of their four-day tour of Malaysia, after having arrived yesterday from Singapore.
Malaysia is their second destination of their nine-day tour of the Far East, as representatives to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in conjunction with the celebration to mark the 60-year reign of the Queen.
During their stay here, the royal couple are expected to visit Hospis Malaysia, a charitable organisation which offers professional palliative care to patients suffering from life-limited illnesses, the Kuala Lumpur City Centre Park and Danum Valley, a primary tropical rainforest in Sabah.
They are scheduled to leave for Solomon Islands on Sunday to proceed with their tour.
