Burglars ransack three federal offices in Ipoh

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 14 — Three government offices at the Federal Building in Ipoh were burglarised this morning, The Star reported on its website today, adding that a fourth was also targeted.
According to the report, the offices of Orang Asli Affairs Department (JAKOA), National Community and Family Development Board (LPPKN) and the Election Commission (EC) there were found ransacked when employees reported for work this morning.
Staff from the nearby Rural and Regional Development Ministry branch also reported indications of a break-in attempt at one of the office’s entrances.
“We found one fingerprint at the JAKOA office, three at the EC office and two at the LPPKN office,” Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Sum Chang Keong was quoted as saying in the report.
“We found one fingerprint at the JAKOA office, three at the EC office and two at the LPPKN office.”
Sum said the police believe the perpetrators gained access to the compound by scaling a chain-link fence at the rear of the building around midnight, before proceeding with the break-ins.
“At the EC office, RM400 cash belonging to the staff's club was stolen and RM200 cash of the LPPKN staff club was taken,” he added.
The brazen burglary left the government employees baffled, with JAKOA director Mohd Zamri Mustajab saying: “This has never happened before.”
