Dapsy elects Bahau rep as new chief

Bahau state assemblyperson Teo Kok Seong has been elected the new DAP youth chief today. 

Teo, who polled 192 votes, was elected with a comfortable margin ahead of Canning state assemblyperson Wong Kah Woh, with 137 votes.

Outgoing youth chief Anthony Loke had decided not to seek re-election to make way for new blood.

Loh Chee Heng held on to the post of deputy youth chief unopposed.

Meanwhile, Bukit Mertajam MP Chong Eng polled the largest number of votes in the election of the 15-seat wanita wing central committee. 

Later, the new central committee appointed Chong as their leader. Chong had previously held the post by virtue of appointment, as today was the inaugural wanita wing congress and election.

Unlike the youth wing, the wanita wing's voting system is similar to the central body, in which only seats central committee are open for contest and not specific positions.
