'Focus on missing Omega watch, not plane'

Perkasa vice-president Zulkifli Noordin has called on Anwar Ibrahim and his wife to search for the "missing" Omega wristwatch instead of belittling the government's efforts to locate MH370.

The watch became one of the focal points following the exposure of a sex video, allegedly of Anwar in 2011. Anwar has denied any involvement and dismissed the video as a political conspiracy.

At the height of the matter, both Anwar and Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail had run-ins with the media when quizzed on the watch, which was purportedly recovered from the room where the alleged sex act was recorded.

Among others, Wan Azizah denied that her husband's watch had gone missing. "It is with me. We have the watch. There is no loss," she told reporters then, according to a Malaysiakini report.

But when asked to show the watch, Wan Azizah reportedly appeared uneasy and several PKR leaders at the press conference had to come to her defence.

In a recent blog posting, Zulkifli (below) raised this issue again after lambasting the couple for their remarks on the MH370 issue.

"As far as I know, (businessperson Shazryl) Eskay (Abdullah) has proven that the watch was not only with him, but hassurrendered it to the police.

"But until today, Anwar and Wan Azizah have failed to reveal the watch, although claiming that it is with them," he added.

Shazryl is one of the three individuals who admitted to having released the video. The others are former Malacca chief minister Rahim Thamby Chik and former Perkasa treasurer Shuib Lazim.

Zulkifli, who was a former PKR MP, stressed that the issue was important because it concerned the credibility and integrity of the parties involved.

"One of them is lying. Either Anwar and Azizah or Eskay," he added.

As for the MH370 incident, Zulkifli pointed out that the pilot of the missing aircraft was a staunch PKR supporter and party member as well as related to Anwar by marriage.

"The mystery is compounded by the fact that the plane vanished several hours after the Court of Appeal convicted Anwar of sodomy and slapped him with a five-year jail term," he said.

Zulkifili said if Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak or Umno had followed in the footsteps of the opposition, they would have twisted these facts to implicate Anwar and PKR in the MH370 incident.

"But Najib and Umno do not practise this disgusting and dirty politics.

“The government's focus has only been on locating the missing plane. Never was there any mention of Anwar and PKR. This is how noble our country's leaders are," he added.
