As anticipated by the market, Bank Negara Malaysia today decided to raise the Overnight Policy Rate (OPR) by 25 basis points to 3.25 percent.
The decision was made at the money policy committee (MPC) meeting.
Changes to the OPR among others affect the base lending rate and short-term interest rates.
This includes rates for home loans.
