Controversial Johor property Bill to be in force next year - MB Khaled

Controversial Johor property Bill to be in force next year - MB Khaled
PASIR GUDANG - The Johor Real Property and Housing Board Bill - which was passed by the state legislative assembly on June 9 - will come into force next year.
Mentri Besar Datuk Mohamed Khaled Nordin said the state government hoped to present the Bill to Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar by the end of the year for his consent and approval.
"The Bill is still in the structural and administrative process as there are still minor issues, including the appointment of members to the board," he told reporters at the 50th anniversary celebration of SMK Datuk Penggawa Timur in Jalan Masai Lama here yesterday.
This, said Mohamed Khaled, involved the transferring of senior officials serving in the state civil service to be appointed as board members.
The Bill - which had 10 amendments made to the original draft - was passed after all 38 Barisan Nasional representatives voted for it while 18 Pakatan Rakyat assemblymen abstained.
Only 29 votes were needed to pass the Bill. -Asiaone
