Latheefa Koya mocked as 'lawyer datang bulan'

PKR central leadership council member Latheefa Koya and Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim's press secretary Arfa'eza Abdul Aziz traded barbs on social media as the strife over the proposed MB change deepened.

Latheefa yesterday started with a series of tweets lambasting Abdul Khalid for a lack of pro-people policies as MB, which led to Arfa'eza to hit back.

"Claim to be socialist, but you readily support a capitalist like MB? This MB has never helped Bersih- all he did was to pay for bail and after case asked back for the money.

"Some people are supporting a stingy person like this under the excuse of hating Anwar. You all deserve to have Umno rule you," Latheefa posted on Facebook in a post directed to Abdul Khalid's (left) supporters.

She also later said that Abdul Khalid's supporters are "fighting tooth and nail" to keep the latter in the MB seat.

But the series of posting seems to have irked Arfa'eza, she retorted by calling Latheefa "lawyer datang bulan" (lawyer having a period and is emotional)

"Ask that lawyer 'datang bulan' how much Selangor contributed to her NGO?" Arfa'eza posted in one of the comments in Facebook, which was later screen captured by Latheefa.

Arfa'eza was referring to Lawyers of Liberty, the NGO that Latheefa helped co-found.

This led to Latheefa retort once again.

"As a woman- you accuse another woman as lawyer 'datang bulan'? Amazing, and please tell how much is LFL being paid (by Selangor)? While you are at it- tell me how much you are earning? Plus all the companies you have interest in as well!" Latheefa wrote.

The lawyer then made a reference to Khalid's out of court settlement with Bank Islam, where details remain scarce until today.

"When a person has a RM66 million headache, he can cut a deal in many ways. He could have been declared bankrupt, but he made his deal. He was told politely to leave- he fought back shamelessly," she said.

"Here's a guy hanging on to a seat without mandate from his own party. Thanks to him and his deal, Selangor saved enough money for BN to spend after they take over," she further added.
