NETIZENS SPEAK UP! Should MB Khalid stay or go?

NETIZENS SPEAK UP! Should MB Khalid stay or go?
‘Khalid is not only not a team player but an authoritarian.’
Basically: Sorry, Selangor MB Khalid Ibrahim. Regardless of your good track record, all would be for nought if you insist on staying.
To fight until the Pakatan Rakyat coalition is in shambles is surely a rotten example to show your people. It is ungentlemanly and frankly, downright embarrassing.
It shows utter disrespect for your leaders. How do you expect your staff to respect you even if you succeed in staying on as MB?
Unfortunately, this sad episode shows how Khalid has failed in leadership, regardless of what the true circumstances are.
Anak, Bangsa, Malaysia: PKR must not only take disciplinary action but also sack Khalid as a party member with immediate effect because Khalid is not only a poor team player but an authoritarian who does things on his own.
SelangorKu: The MB by convention should leave as he lost the support of his party. But Pakatan consist of PKR (14), PAS (15) and DAP (15) and Umno has 12 seats. PKR in fact has the least number of seats.
PKR + DAP = 29. But TSKI (Khalid) won't vote against himself and DAP representative Hannah Yeoh cannot vote as a speaker. That leaves 27 for PKR/DAP. The speaker can only vote if there is a tie.
PAS + TSKI = 16. Umno will take the opportunity to slap Anwar by voting to support TSKI, and therefore 16 + 12 = 28. So if PKR goes to the state assembly, PKR/DAP will lose. The state constitution says MB must command the majority of the Dewan.
Also the revelation of Splash lately proves that MB is not just stingy but is protecting the rakyat's money from the vultures in PKR and DAP. As a voter I support an MB that may be politically naive but a good financial manager.
Tunku Abdul Rahman once said, “Better to have a stupid PM than a dishonest PM.” PKR, stop fighting. Work harder and smarter.
Tiger50: I am all for 'sack Khalid'. The longer he stays as MB or a member of PKR, the quicker he will destroy the party and Pakatan.
If he calls for a snap election because PAS supports him, so be it. Go to the polls and let the people decide whether Pakatan or BN earns the right to govern Selangor.
Tok Karut: I wonder what internal processes are established in PKR? You want to discipline an MB? That is so pathetic. There is no one in the party who can reason with the MB? Such a sad and pathetic situation.
Kawak: Malaysian politicians are generally thick skinned. Shame is not in their vocabulary when it comes to clinging to position and power. Khalid is no different.
His party has decided to drop him as MB but he refuses to step down. Instead, he tries to gain support from the sultan and some PAS leaders to stay put.
Fair Play: Let's revisit what Khalid said at the beginning - that he wanted to finish his term as MB before calling it a day. That's a very significant statement.
Surely, when a person makes that statement, without any doubt there must be unfinished business to complete.
What are they? Not hard to see - mega projects running into billions of ringgit in the forms of Kidex, water concessionaires and the Langat 2 water-treatment plant project.
Besides, the DPM let the cat out of the bag when he said a change in MB might scuttle the Langat 2.
iiiizzzziiii: This is something which is sorely lacking in all the leaders in Malaysia - political maturity. Malaysia is a third world country and with that comes with a third world mentality.
The country has prospered and progressed at a rapid pace but the mentality of the leaders did not. Instead of cultivating political maturity, they ended up mastering political survival.
This is the level the country has descended into. Hold onto power at all costs no matter what the outcome is. Khalid is hell-bent on doing this even if it means the disintegration of Pakatan.
As the saying goes, a thousand good deeds done nobody remember, but one bad deed and you will be scarred for life. In politics, you don't have friends just people with common interests.
Anonymous_ABG: Dear Khalid, you have done a wonderful job and earned the respect of the people until recently.
The party has now decided to replace you and they must have a good reason to do so, and as a man of integrity you should gracefully accept the decision of the party and that will earn you respect and admiration of the nation.
Fair Play: Just for the sake of speculation, let's say PAS stays neutral (not supporting Khalid) and PKR instituted disciplinary action against him (Khalid) and found him guilty and then expelled him.
That means he is an independent state representative or he can join Umno. Can he still seek an audience with HRH Sultan of Selangor for a dissolution of the state assembly when clearly he no longer command the majority of the Adun to form the state government?
888: I have in the past voiced strong support for Khalid due to his good stewardship of Selangor.
But his attitude lately is a disgrace to himself and bring doubt about the stability of the two-party system. He must go quietly, this way he can still maintain some respect from the party and rakyat.
Prudent: No need to for precedents or examples. Even in Umno, if the prime minister loses the confidence of his party, say by losing the presidency in a party election, he will have to relinquish the post of prime minister to his successor.
Khalid not only lose the confidence of his party leadership but also the PKR grassroots by losing the the party election for deputy president, and also the confidence of the Pakatan leadership-in-council - he is a three-tier loser.
He shows his totally detestable arrogance when against Pakatan, PKR and PKR grassroots, he declared stubbornly and shamelessly that he will stay on till the end of his second term.
According to PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, he was given his marching orders since March 2014, so his departure cannot be said to be abrupt and without being given a chance to prepare for a graceful exit.
Single Malt: Dear Khalid, the people of Selangor value your service to the state.
For whatever reasons (and you know it), the PKR leadership wants you to step down. Your appointment as MB is the choice of your party. You are subservient to the party at all times and must quit the post.
So please be the gentleman that you were in your first term as MB. -M'kini
