Selangor MB crisis 101

Selangor MB crisis 101
Throughout this month, I can say that being a gawker is safe. And comfortable to some. John Lennon said living is always easy with your eyes closed. But well, it is boring to many. It doesn’t give you the right to complain. It doesn’t give you the thrill of understanding. It doesn’t give you the pleasure to take pride or praise. Most importantly, sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity are dangerous, and therefore, as much as I want to be happy that many Malaysians now are now taking part in the discussion of MB Selangor crisis; I strongly believe that some are not simply entitled to their opinion, but informed opinion.
So, let’s start with these 6 basic cyclical issues online:
1. Why are there many kowtowers (yes, it sounds better than macai) of Anwar Ibrahim in Pakatan?
Well, Pakatan figures are not credulous. Why would these engineers, economists, lawyers and intellectuals are willing to stay on the course at the expense of their personal comfy life just for the sake of a man named Anwar Ibrahim? Why would they still be in the party despite rejection and the worst odds just because Anwar Ibrahim?
The answer is, they won’t.
Because the fight is bigger than Anwar Ibrahim. And what that is, is for you to ponder and find out.
2. The people elected for Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim?
No. TS Khalid Ibrahim was not elected by the people to be the MB.
If you are one of those who asked this question, read more.
3. Why must his post be replaced with Dr. Wan Azizah?
Why not?
She doesn’t come out of nowhere. Politician is her profession. She has been one ever since the 1990s. And other than she is a woman and the wife of Anwar Ibrahim, can you describe anything else about her?
Okay, I suggest google!
4. Why not someone else?
Remember that the decision to replace DSKI with Kak Wan is not one man’s decision. Neither it is a one party’s decision.
Anyhow, if not Kak Wan, can you name that ‘someone else’ ?
5. But PAS supports TSKI!
PAS is part of the coalition. PAS is part of Pakatan Rakyat. In other words, PAS is one of the team players.
PAS shouldn’t jeopardize the team. They should hold on to the promise. That’s akhlaq.
PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang might have defended TSKI. He might want TSKI to remain as Selangor MB.
He might be the ulama’. He might be the ustaz. But, before we make the decision to rumble over each other to get aboard his or any band wagon; make sure to be at least informed about issues regarding TSKI’s court case against his personal RM 70 million Bank Islam debt to buy Guthrie’s shares, his take on the bible raids in Selangor, his approval for projects like Kidex highway which is totally against the Pakatan’s manifesto, and the EcoWorld transactions.
Call a spade, a spade. And in order to call a spade a spade, you yourself must know what a bloody shovel is. We don’t need to nod just because our ulama’ have nodded approving “this is a spade”. Well, we are not parrots. In this case, it is only responsible to find out what is really happening. Don’t insult our thinking faculty. Don’t do injustice in the name of Islam. Islam is not for blind followers. It never is.
6. Why now?
I personally would answer that it’s always better now than never. And that to me, is still not the main issue.
The issue is, something is wrong. And therefore, it needs to be stopped. I’m sure Pakatan has tried to solve this problem internally and when that did not work, I believe that they have thought it through before deciding to make this infamous move.
I’m trying to invoke your curiosity. I don’t fingers-feed.
So, do justice to your decision.
Do justice to your curiosity.
Find out the answers.
Read.
And read more.
Ask questions.
Inform yourself.
Because while being lazy is your choice, no one is entitled to be ignorant in public because there is nothing more ghastly than public ignorance in action.
