Dry taps for many in Gombak

Syabas says seven areas still experiencing unscheduled water disruption.
Syabas Air SElangorKUALA LUMPUR: Seven areas around Gombak and here are still experiencing unscheduled water supply disruptions and low pressure from the reduction of treated water from Phase 3 of the Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plant.
Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (SYABAS) in a statement said it was informed by Syarikat Pengeluar Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (SPLASH) that a reduction in the pumping of raw water was due to a drop in the water level at the Sungai Selangor water retention pond on Sept 6.
The affected areas in Gombak include Kampung Lembah Jaya, Lembah Jaya Selatan, Kampung Ampang Indah, Taman Mulia Jaya, Kampung Tasik Permai and Taman Pinggiran Ukay as well as Taman Shamelin Perkasa in Kuala Lumpur.
SYABAS, the Selangor State Government and all operators involved were striving to ensure the disruption would be overcome soon.
“SYABAS will mobilise tanker lorries and static tanks for distribution of emergency water supply to ease difficulties faced by consumers in the areas affected,” said the statement.
Consumers requiring additional information can visit the SYABAS website at www.syabas.com.my, Facebook or Twitter by typing puspel or puspel syabas.
Consumers can also get assistance by contacting the Customer Service Centre (PUSPEL) at toll free line 1-800-88-5252 or SMS by typing PUSPELaduan/questions and send to 39222.
