Temporary ban on May 13 book

The book “MAY 13 FACT & FICTION” contradicts the official version of the incident.

KUALA LUMPUR: Suaram adviser Dr.Kua Kia Soong’s recent book “MAY 13 FACT & FICTION” will be temporarily withdrawn from circulation because of legal objections from an actor in the movie “Tanda Putera” whose image appears on the front cover.

The book also contradicts the officially sponsored movie which had set out to rebut Kua’s 2007 book “May 13: Declassified Documents on the racial riots of 1969”.

Kua said in a statement today that the May 13 was in fact a coup d’etat orchestrated by ambitious elements in Umno against the Tunku-led aristocratic class.

This is in contradiction with the official version of the May 13 Incident.

In the movie, the director claimed that she was merely using her creativity to show a Chinese youth urinating on a flag pole at the Selangor menteri besar’s residence that was portrayed as another provocation that led to the riots.

The book also contains important issues on the special position of the Malays, the return of Chin Peng’s ashes to his homeland, the Scorpene submarine scandal, the 13th general election, Education blueprint, the harassment of Suaram, energy policy, defence policy, Hindraf and others.
