Anti-1MDB man’s RM5m house puzzle

Umno man waits to check if his KL bungalow sold at auction for RM2mil.
khairudin2KUALA LUMPUR: A RM2mil mystery hangs over a bungalow owned by the Umno man who filed a police report against the controversial government-owned investment agency 1Malaysia Development Berhad.
Khairuddin Abu Hassan, deputy leader of Umno Batu Kawan, told Malaysiakini that he had been surprised to learn from bloggers today that his house had been listed for auction for RM2.1 milllion.
He said he would check the matter on Monday and take any action needed then. The auction was for today at Hotel Istana here, but he had not received any notice from the bank, he said. Furthermore he said he had a buyer willing to take the property for RM5mil.
Khairuddin has come under pressure from other Umno members for lodging a report against 1MDB alleging mismanagement of funds, and recently made a statement to Commercial Crime officers at federal police headquarters.
Umno Youth members in Penang, and Malay rights NGO Pekida have lodged counter police reports saying Khairuddin had made false statements against 1MDB but Khairuddin vowed to carry on. “I have done my duty, and the rakyat supports my actions. I will fight 1MDB until the truth is out. The battle is on,” he was quoted as saying.
