Congrats Bukit Aman - Route To ISIS Closed Down

• police dealt a blow to the terror group’s use of Malaysia as a transit point for recruits 
• recruiter in Syria posted warning on IS website urging Indonesians not to transit Malaysia
• saying that to do so would be suicidal.
• Abu Hud said Indonesians who transited country arrested 
• counter-terrorism division kept an eye for other nationalities. 
• will continue vigilance at exit & entry points to ensure no one slips through 
• police repeatedly said will not allow Malaysia to be hideout, base or transit for terrorists 
• air routes from KL make it easy to reach Syria via Turkey, to avoid detection. 
• Indonesian IS recruits have pretended to be Malaysians & travelled to Turkey 
• while some Malaysian IS recruits have gone to Indonesia & then to Turkey
• militants probably switch to Brunei, Hong Kong, China and European countries 
• Brunei alternative route used by Malaysian militants
• fly to Saudi Arabia on the pretext of performing the Umrah and to Jordan 
• another source called for caution, could be a ruse to throw authorities off guard

• Since Feb last year, Special Branch Counter Terrorism arrested 51 militants 
• Last month, 12 Indonesians arrested - planning to fly from KLIA to Turkey and Syria.

This is very good news. However they are doing it our boys are doing a good job. I always have faith in our Police especially the Special Branch.

Constant vigilance is critical. 

This is not the job of the Police but we should go one step further and study why so many Malaysians are so gullible and are so easily influenced by militants and terrorists.  51 arrests in under 12 months is a large number. Imagine if there was no Special Branch would the number of recruits become hundreds and thousands?

We do not have a culture of militancy and religious violence in Malaysia. We do not have "madrassahs" specifically geared towards terrorist ideology (like in Pakistan, Afghanistan or Indonesia). 

So where do our potential militants pick up these jihadi ideas? University graduates, civil servants and ex mdical students are becoming ISIS militants.

There are serious flaws in our system to which we are not paying enough attention.  

Muslim folks, whoever you are, your son or daughter could become an ISIS militant. Dont take things for granted.  Obviously all these confused people are a product of our system, especially our education system. Something is seriously wrong.
