A photograph of PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat lying in bed and ill, which is widely disseminated through the social media websites, is an old photo.
This was confirmed today by Kelantan Deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah when contacted by Bernama.
"I'm not sure when the photo was taken but I know that's an old photo. He (Nik Aziz) is ill (from old age) but not bed-ridden as shown in the photo," he said.
He was commenting on the photo of Nik Aziz, 83, showing him being accompanied and surrounded by his family members in a room.
Amar said the last time he met Nik Aziz was before the recent massive floods that hit Kelantan and his state of poor health was normal.
Meanwhile, PAS vice-president Salahuddin Ayub said he knew that Nik Aziz was ill two weeks ago but his condition later improved and not as portrayed in the photo.
The former Kelantan MB was before this reported to be well and resting at Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital in Kubang Kerian. – Bernama
