Penang Deputy CM to offer job to ex-officer Zaidi

Mohd Rashid Hasnon says he is dedicated to provide moral and family support to Zaidi, who he regards as a close friend.
mejar zaidi job offer2GEORGE TOWN: Penang Deputy Chief Minister I (DCM1) Mohd Rashid Hasnon is contemplating an offer of employment to former Malaysian Air Force officer Major Zaidi Ahmad in either a non-governmental organisation (NGO) or in the state government.
Rashid said he was looking into providing a job for the ex-officer, most likely in an NGO, perhaps in Tikam Batu or Bertam, after the latter was discharged upon being found guilty by a military court for breaking protocol on the indelible ink issue.
Rashid added he was dedicated to provide moral and family support to Zaidi, whom he regarded as a close friend.
He was responding to a call by Umno critic Shahbudin Husin that one of the Pakatan state governments of Penang, Kelantan and Selangor should offer the unemployed Zaidi a job.
Rashid revealed one of his friends from an NGO had already met with Zaidi to discuss a possible job, which he himself was ready to discuss with Zaidi soon.
Saying he wanted to procure a job for Zaidi where he could actively contribute to the people, Rashid added, “If I can’t get him a government job, we can make him active in southern Kedah or northern Seberang Perai areas, like Tikam Batu and Bertam.
Zaidi caused controversy during the last general election in May 2013 when he told the press that the indelible ink used in the last general election could be easily washed off after application.
