ALL OUT TO HUMILIATE RAFIZI: Cops break down door to raid Pandan MP's office but it won't stop him
Police broke down PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli's office door at the PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya in a raid this afternoon.
Rafizi was arrested on Friday for a circular he sent to PKR members to attend Saturday's Kita Lawan rally, and is under a three-day remand order.
PKR's Kapar MP G Manivannan, who is acting as Rafizi's lawyer said police broke down the door with Rafizi's permission.
"No one had the spare key so Rafizi agreed that they break the door," he told Malaysiakini.
PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil said the six police officers seized four computers, a copy of Rafizi's circular and a copy of the media statement Rafizi sent on the rally.
Rafizi was arrested after he was slated as among those to lead the protest rally in conjunction with the wedding reception of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s daughter.
The rally was to call for Najib's resignation and in solidarity with jailed PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim.
Rafizi is remanded alongside activist Hishamuddin Rais.
PKR vice president Tian Chua, PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu, PAS' Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad, Kita Lawan coordinator Fariz Musa and two protestors were also arrested in relation to the Saturday rally.
Mohamad was released on police bail, Fariz will be released tomorrow while the rest were freed today after police failed to secure a remand order.
At least a dozen have been arrested for the earlier Kita Lawan rallies including Anwar's daughter and PKR vice president Nurul Izzah Anwar, who spent a night in lockup. - M'kini
