Bung: Allah flooded Kelantan after prayers for Umno’s fall

Umno MP Bung Mokhtar says the mass prayer led by the late Nik Aziz for Umno’s downfall caused God to wreak havoc on the state instead.

KUALA LUMPUR: From the looks of it, Allah wants Umno to stay in power. That’s the message that Umno MP Bung Moktar Radin sent out loud and clear in Parliament today when he declared that the only reason the state of Kelantan was deluged in water last year was because the late Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat led a mass prayer session there for Umno’s downfall.

The MP for Kinabatangan said, “Does Islam allow its followers to pray for Umno’s downfall?

“After the mass prayer, the stadium was flooded. This never occurred in hundreds of years but after the prayers, Allah brought destruction down on them (residents of Kelantan),” he said.

Describing the devastating floods last December as “Allah’s test”, Bung rationalised that when opposition leaders like those in PAS fail to show their gratitude to the government, natural catastrophes like floods were bound to happen.

Three years ago, Nik Aziz who was menteri besar of Kelantan, led a mass prayer at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium where Muslims prayed for the downfall of Umno because of rampant corrupt practices.
