He said the DAP decision will have a negative impact on the pact.
“The best way is for the Pakatan Rakyat leadership to meet immediately and find a common ground to stay together,” Mohd Sabu said in a statement today.
Mohamad Sabu's statement is the first conciliatory statement from the Islamist party’s leadership after several party leaders had condemned the DAP leadership's decision to cut ties with Abdul Hadi.
"DAP is unable to work with a PAS president like Hadi Awang who persists in such dishonest and dishonourable acts," Lim said in a statement today.
"As Hadi is the PAS leader in PR, DAP's decision to end all ties with Hadi will effectively put the PR leadership council in limbo. DAP will meet the PKR leadership to discuss the future course of PR," he said.
Reacting to the statement earlier today, the Islamist party’s secretary general Datuk Mustafa  Ali had described the decision as “childish and immature”.
He said that in Pakatan Rakyat (PR), parties dealt with other parties and not with the leader alone.
"Each party elects its own leader. ‎So if the parties want to work together, they must accept the leader chosen by each party,” he told The Malaysian Insider.
PAS vice-president Salahuddin Ayub said he could not accept DAP's decision to cut ties with Abdul Hadi, yet wish to work with PAS and remain in PR.
"He is the president of one million PAS members," Salahuddin said.
"Cutting ties with the PAS president is not the way nor the best solution to overcome this issue," Salahuddin said.
Another vice-president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man earlier said DAP should be the one to leave PR, not PAS.
"For PAS, no party can ask another in PR to leave, other than that party to withdraw itself," he said, adding that DAP's decision was an odd one as it could not expect to stop working with Hadi only and not the rest of the party.
PAS central committee member Nik Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz also said it was better for DAP to leave PR and said Kelantan's hudud enactment should not be used as an excuse for breaking up the seven-year-old opposition pact
