Putrajaya paid an excess of RM109 million for a private jet for the Prime Minister's use from Jet Premier One (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (JPO), a private company who had acquired the aircraft from Air Luther AG, PKR said today.
Its secretary-general Rafizi Ramli revealed that the federal government had paid USD89 million, some USD11 million (RM39 million) more than the current market price of the ACJ320 private jet because of the third-party purchase.
"The decision of the government to not purchase ACJ320 directly from Air Luther but through JPO has caused it to be more expensive by another RM70 million," he said in a press conference at the Parliament lobby today.
