A total of 2,012 traffic offenders were slapped with warrants of arrest since Op Warta was launched nationwide on May 19.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said police were confident of arresting traffic offenders who had yet to pay their summonses.
"The operation has entered phase two and we not only mount roadblocks but also visit their office or workplace.
Of the total 1.59 million warrants of arrest issued, only 50,000 traffic summonses had been paid.
Khalid said 9,836 traffic offenders surrendered themselves after warrants of arrest were issued. – Bernama
