FB user recounts horrific encounter with flasher

College student bravely conveys her story to the public in the hope that others will not make the same mistakes she did.
Beverlley_facebook_600SUBANG JAYA: Beverlley A Lim took to Facebook to recount horrific details of being confronted with a flasher near a private college here, in the hopes that others would learn from her mistakes and save themselves from a similar ordeal.
The Former Trainee Pâtissier at InterContinental Kuala Lumpur was confronted by the man on May 19, 2015 at Subang Jaya after attending her Japanese class.
Lim narrated that while walking to her car after her class, she noticed a suspicious looking man in his 20s loitering nearby.
She admitted that she had foolishly ignored her instinct to walk back to her college and wait till after he had walked away. She rationalised instead that it would be safer to simply get into her car and drive away quickly.
“I quietly walked to my car without him noticing me, and only unlocked it when I was right at the door,” she wrote.
“Only then did he turn his head to me. We were separated by a railing so I thought it was relatively safe.”
“I hopped in as quickly as I could and locked the doors, ready to leave. Then I saw him walking away.”
Thinking that she was out of danger, Lim started texting someone while in the car instead of driving away from the scene, something she lived to regret as seconds later upon sensing a presence beside her, she instinctively looked up only to be startled at the sight of the very same man beside her car window now.
Fearing he was going to rob her, she however noticed instead that the sneaky perpetrator had at that point begun fondling himself right beside her window as she helplessly looked on.
“He had his d**k out of his pants and was jerking off in front of my face. I couldn’t breathe. I cannot really express what I felt at that moment.”
Paralysed with fear, Lim frantically fumbled with the gear as she struggled to drive off but realised she could not move.
“I cannot really express what I felt at that moment. Disgust, shock, disbelief, helplessness, anger, fear, (loss) of control.”
In her panic, she started honking for help after which he simply walked away slowly looking totally unconcerned.
Finally being able to drive out of the parking lot, she stopped her car 100 metres away and broke down, sobbing uncontrollably as her hands shook and her body trembled.
Lim said she did not make a police report however because “it was pointless for me to recount my experience to someone who would just type a report for the sake of it.”
She did however bravely convey her story to the public via Facebook in hopes that other women would not make the same mistakes she did.
It is clear that the assault by the callous pervert has left a scar on her psyche.
In her Facebook post, she said that even after arriving back at her apartment, she sat frozen in the car park, too afraid to come out of her car for fear that some man was lurking in the darkness.
She also said she couldn’t sleep well the night of the incident. ”Whenever I closed my eyes I saw that perpetrator. I was suddenly afraid of darkness and I lost count on the number of times I woke up crying.”
