I had a dream – Paul Raja

The government today announced that it was taking back the 28 hectares of land that had been sold to a fully-owned unit of the Finance Ministry for failing to deliver on its promises to develop the strategic piece of land according to agreed milestones.
The government also announced that an advisory panel had been formed which includes leading civil activists to ensure that the principle of “best and highest use” will underpin the development plans for the said land.
Former Malaysian Bar president Datuk Ambiga Sreenevasan said she was thrilled to head this panel of luminaries and said that this turn of events was a pleasant shock of epic proportions.
Ambiga announced that at least 50% of this piece of land would be developed into a world class recreational green space where families could relax from the hassle of city life.
The site would also have integrated public transport facilities for the convenience of the public.
A part of the site could also house a new National Art Gallery, which would become an iconic building, adding to the skyline of Kuala Lumpur.
She also envisions the building of a Children’s Hospital in view of the crowded facilities currently at the KL General Hospital.
The entire block of land would be dedicated to the welfare and recreational needs of the common people and called it Barisan Nasional’s gift to the nation.
She said the plot of land was worth an estimated RM7.7 billion at today’s market price of land in the vicinity and thanked the government for truly being a caring government.
Following this unprecedented development, the approval rating for the prime minister improved from just under 30% to over 80% and has dashed all hopes of the opposition taking over Putrajaya in the near future.
Dreams have a funny way of coming true, sometimes.
