If Deloitte cares for its name, it shouldn't let Najib hide behind its name

If Deloitte cares for its name, it shouldn't let Najib hide behind its name
‘Prolonging the issue will create doubt and suspicion among rakyat.’
Wg321: It is true that 1Malaysia Development Berhad’s (1MDB) RM42 billion of borrowed money did not "disappear". The funds were used to buy soon-to-be-expired power plants; land in Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) and the Sungai Besi airport in Kuala Lumpur.
There is still a balance of RM28 billion. What type of income does this balance of RM28 billion have generated? At the same time, interest on the RM28 billion will be accumulated every month.
If this RM28 billion is not put into productive use or with zero income or there is a loss, you will have to use part of the principal sum of RM28 billion to pay the annual interest. Tycoon Ananda Khrisnan can only help once.
The board of directors of 1MDB makes policy decisions on what to invest and not the auditor. PM Najib Razak as finance minister and 1MDB know where the RM28 billion was invested or hidden.
The taxpayers have the right to be informed. Don’t use audit firm Deloitte as an excuse to evade the question.
Not Smart: The audit by Deloitte, auditor-general and the Public Accounts Committee is not really necessary at all. If the number one person in charge of 1MDB knows the whereabouts of the funds, then reveal it to the rakyat.
Prolonging the issue will create doubt and suspicion among the rakyat.
It is also impossible that the 1MDB board is not aware of the whereabouts of the huge funds but need an audit to be carried out.
Mushiro: If 1MDB's RM42 billion did not vanish, then why is Najib only talking about 1MDB's land assets - TRX and Sungai Besi airport land - which the government sold to 1MDB for less than RM2 billion?
Surely as chairperson of 1MDB advisory board, Najib can explain about the missing RM42 billion to assuage the nation's worry.
Waiting for the auditor-general's report and the PAC review is a lame excuse.
Rupert16: Accounts signed off by an international auditing firm does not mean anything.
The important thing is that 1MDB must be able to account as where the loan money ends up, and the reasons for taking such massive loans way above the amount needed to acquire the lands and old power plants.
So far Najib has not been able to give straightforward answers to these questions, and that what annoys and causes the anxiety among the rakyat.
Sirach: Every problem has a formula? What's that supposed to mean, Najib? This is the kind if muddled political doublespeak that pretends to say something when in fact it says nothing.
Come on Mr PM, don't lead us down the garden path. Just give us straight answers. No one cares what Deloitte signed off. The signature of a big audit firm is no quality seal. Remember Arthur Andersen and Enron?
Firestone: Nobody ever said RM42 billion was missing, Najib.
The debt is RM42 billion and the assets only totalled RM14 billion. Where is the balance RM28 billion? Don't you understand such a simple thing or are you pretending not to understand?
If 1MDB has the money, then tell us why you need to borrow from RM2 billion from tycoon Ananda Krishnan?
Balachan Cili: Dear PM, when I tell Ah Long that I have the cash to pay him, he insists to see my bank statement.
Can you do the same and show documentary proof that the RM42 billion is not lost.
Defend Najib from Dr M, Umno division leaders told
Mafeeah: There was never any good or bad speculation on 1MDB. The facts have been laid out and all it takes is to answer them factually. You do not need the auditor-general and PAC to do it.
If everything requires the auditor-general and PAC to step in, then what is the government there for?
Cheras Umno division leader Syed Ali Alhabshee, perhaps if you provided the script, they may be able to do it.
But you got to also instruct them to follow the script very closely because the earth below constantly moves every time former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad makes a statement.
If you don't feel it, then you are also floating along.
Derock: Syed Ali, are you saying the PM cannot defend himself against the allegations make by Dr M? Why do you need Umno leaders to defend the PM?
Dr M is one man. So, go fight one to one. Anyway, many of the citizens want to know the truth.
Doc: Syed Ali is asking 191 Umno division leaders to stand up in unison to support of Najib against one 90-year-old man? - M'kini
