The payments also cover the appeals approved for 141,670 recipients, said Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah in the statement.
As announced in the Budget 2015, the government has decided to make BR1M payments for this year in three stages.
The first stage of the payments was on January 15.
The BR1M payments will be made directly to the accounts of the respective recipients.
For those with no bank accounts, letters of approval will be sent to their homes and can payments can be redeemed at any branch of Bank Simpanan Nasional Maybank, CIMB and Public Bank.
Husni said the government has introduced the Death Benefit Scheme (SKK) which offers assistance of RM1,000 to beneficiaries of the BR1M recipients who have passed away under the household and senior citizens categories.
To date, more than 16,000 SKK claims have been approved.
Beneficiaries of BR1M recipients named in the BR1M application forms can make claims at any BSN branch by producing the death certificate as well as identity cards of the deceased.
