CABINET HAS FAILED MALAYSIA: Now, it's UMNO turn to decide on Najib

CABINET HAS FAILED M'SIA: Now, it's UMNO turn to decide on Najib
KUALA LUMPUR - Former Information Minister Zainuddin Maidin feels that the time has come for Umno, the party itself, to decide whether they want the present situation which has bogged down the Najib Administration to continue or otherwise. “The strong and grand wall built over 60 years is being demolished at a rapid rate by the media power of the west. Inadvertently, they will destroy the power of the Malays and Islam in the country.”
“Not only was PAS going through destruction, Umno has lost the moral high ground. The Malays no longer can pin their hopes on these two parties. Umno has lost the trust of the Chinese and now the Malays too.”
If Umno allows the present state of affairs to continue, the possibility of it taking a turn for the worse cannot be ruled out, he warned. “The further that the party delays in bringing closure to the matter, the greater the possibility of it being even more shamed in the future.”
“They have to decide whether they want to save Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak or Umno. If it’s the latter, they have to sacrifice Najib.”
If Umno members can feel the pulse of the people, he added, “they will make the right decision because the situation is critical. This is the first time that a Prime Minister of the country is set to exit in such disgrace. This certainly affect the dignity of Umno.”
Zainuddin argued that Najib no doubt was in a dilemma over whether to stay or go. If he goes, it will confirm that the allegations against him are true. If he doesn’t go, it doesn’t mean that he will be able to handle the continuing controversy bogging down his administration. “Already, the people have realised the truth of Mahathir’s allegations against him in the wake of the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) report last Friday. I can’t see the American newspaper having any hidden agenda or working with Mahathir.”
“No matter what Najib does, his image cannot be restored.”
Najib going to Court will not save him and restore his image, said Zainuddin. “It might at best simply buy him some time at a time when the people have already lost confidence in the government, there’s political instability and economic uncertainty.” - FMT
