After severing ties with DAP, PAS should also reject PKR de facto chief Anwar Ibrahim and put forward its own president Abdul Hadi Awang as the opposition's prime minister candidate, said Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali.

The former Pasir Mas MP hailed PAS' decision yesterday saying he suggests to organise a feast after Hari Raya Aidil Fitri to celebrate the momentous decision.

Waxing ecstatic over PAS' ulama council decision, Ibrahim said however PAS still wants to maintain ties with its other Pakatan Rakyat partner PKR.

"PAS should rightfully reject Anwar on principle that it is an Islamic party that champions Islamic leadership, and rejects leaders who have no morals and who worships (mentokong) pluralism," he said in a statement today.

"PAS should instead put Hadi as the candidate for PM instead of Anwar," he said.

Ibrahim was commenting on the Syura council decision on Friday that finalised the controversial motion in their lastMuktamar almost two months ago to sever ties with DAP.

The former MP, who last won in Pasir Mas under PAS in 2008 said that although he is not a PAS member, he cannot bear to see the Islamic party being horsed around by DAP.

He said his keen observation had shown that the relation between PAS and DAP won't last.

Ibrahim said he was even told off by the late PAS spiritual leader Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat for attacking DAP and Anwar.

"When I attacked them, I was chided by Nik Aziz. Several MPs and PAS leaders also tried to tell me not to attack DAP and Anwar. I didn’t listen and finally my service centre was splashed with paint.

"This was when I cut my ties off with PAS. Now it is proven that my views and attitudes were right all along," he declared.
