GO NAJIB, ROSMAH: Go before Malaysians rush to the streets to hound you OUT!

Indeed, whichever camp or divide you pledge your loyalty, hope and trust upon, there is one fact that cannot delude us any further. And that is, Malaysia is fast sinking into an acute socio-political and a consequent economic crisis of mega scale. Leaders and vanguards must rise to save Malaysia. It has to be now or the price that all Malaysians will have to pay will be too heavy tomorrow.

If our past and current leaders from the political fold, the civil society, religious communities, professional organizations, and even our revered Council of Rulers who are truly the vanguards and honored insignia of our Constitutional Monarchy, believe that the fundamentals of our country that are hinged to the Malaysian Constitution to enable good governance, transparency, accountability and sound nation status development are intact and sound and free of any traces of compromise, then they must convene and make a joint statement to that effect.

However, if they responsibly and in all wisdom agree with the commoner-citizens that there is already a serious assault on the stability of our beloved country’s social, political, and economic stability then let truth be told.

That truth with accompanying right action must translate with urgency to concerted and collaborative efforts in correcting all that is critically wrong in our country. Given the cascades of broiling issues in Malaysia these past months that have already now reached almost every country’s news stand our efforts for right action cannot be done independently or in piecemeal or delayed another day anymore.

Every passing day increases the risks and potential collapse of a nation’s fundamentals. And the eventuality is, the entire nation of people, leaders and vanguards will loose and suffer the consequences. Blame will not ease the pain for there is truth in both the sins of commission and ommission.

As Zaid Ibrahim the former de’ facto Lawmaker raised the call for a 100,000 gathering of citizens and leaders from all across the political divide to assemble and vouch for the protection of Malaysia’s future, all our past and current leaders from across the board in Malaysia must convene.

Deliberate. Make a stand. And marshal all the positive energies to save Malaysia. It is a national service we cannot choose to wait and watch by the wayside.

Street protests is not in all likelihood going to make any positive difference to the explosive issues arresting this nation’s peace, progress and standards of good governance, leadership and growth. Given the fact how certain quarters are using the long arm of the laws to punish participants and organizers of peaceful rallies, the past and current leaders who still believe that they do have a moral and categorical role and duty to save the current derelict situation must come forward leaving behind their political differences and in the best interest of our sovereign nation.

However, if for some complex or worse, some uncanny reason, our past and current leaders from all quarters cannot stand together to put the country back on the tracks of the globally endorsed parameters of good governance, stability, transparency and accountability, then we must be resigned for the collapse of justice, parliamentary democracy and social order.

Then, the nightmare begins as people take to the streets out of desperation and battered hope.

Hopefully this open letter reaches the eyes of all those people who can do something.

Yes, we must lead, follow or do something for the times are truly dangerous for a long-time peaceful Malaysia. And let us do it because we truly believe that we must protect our nation against any enemy as citizens who profess, act and uphold the values and virtues that our religions and conscience dictate. - MAILBAG
