Former PM had written against street demonstrations in the past, points out Minister Salleh Said Keruak.
KUALA LUMPUR: Salleh Said Keruak, the newly appointed Communications and Multimedia Minister, has criticised Dr Mahathir Mohamad for suggesting that street demonstrations are a viable way to force Najib Razak to step down as prime minister.
“Dr Mahathir appears to have run out of ideas,” said Salleh in a report carried in The Star Online, in which he explained that the former PM had previously written against street demonstrations in his blog.
The minister said this yesterday during a Hari Raya open house at his ministry’s Special Affairs Department (Jasa).
The country is facing several economic problems which is not of its own doing, like the drop in the value of the ringgit due to falling world oil prices, continued Salleh and added, “The government is now focused on improving the economy.”
