Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will give a detailed explanation to Umno members on the issues of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) and the RM2.6 million political fund, soon.
This is to ensure that each Umno member would not fall for the lies and incorrect information being circulated in the social media, he told reporters after opening the Tanah Merah Umno delegates meeting and Aidilfitri do today.
"Without the explanation, Umno grassroots members will eventually fall for the waves of information in the social media, which has taken over the function of non-verbal communication," said Zahid, who is also Umno vice-president.
Also present were Kelantan Umno liaison committee chairman Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed and deputy chairman Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub, as well as Tanah Merah Umno chief Datuk Ikmal Hisham Ab Aziz.
Earlier in his speech, Zahid also called on Umno members to stay united and not to be separated by the ideology of “those who hate the current leadership line up”.
