Shahbudin: Muhyiddin should stop whining and get cracking

No matter how long he has been in Umno, the Deputy President should know by now that politics is all about kill, or be killed.
Shahbudin-MuhyiddinKUALA LUMPUR: It’s high time, urged a political analyst in his latest blog posting, that Deputy Umno President and sacked Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin gets serious, and moves into action on bringing change to Umno, instead of just being all talk. “Those in power are not thinking of dosa (sin) and pahala (merit). It’s no point taking to the media all the time and just whining and moaning about one’s status and fate in Umno.”
“This is not the time to think about other people’s dosa and pahala. They are not thinking like that. It’s a sheer waste of time to proceed along these lines. It’s all about power.”
Shahbudin Husin, the analyst, expressed disappointment that Muhyiddin didn’t make an effort to return from abroad in time to attend the Umno Supreme Council meeting on November 24. “At least, he could have spoken up on the decision to bar him from officiating at the Wanita, Youth and Puteri wings on December 8. The issues have gone out of control and people are waiting for changes to happen.”
“Muhyiddin had enough time to return even though the meeting was brought forward from November 27. What business has he abroad that’s so important? He’s no longer in government and therefore he could not be having anything important to do abroad. It could have waited. Many people are disappointed that Muhyiddin chose to be absent from an important meeting.”
The analyst was commenting on the Umno number’s two anticipated return from abroad on Thursday and his Facebook posting on the Umno Supreme Council meeting on November 24. “What does he mean by asking what sin has he done to be treated like this,” said Shahbudin. “He thinks that the party is afraid of what he might say at the Wanita, Youth and Puteri annual general meetings.”
“What’s the point of talking like this in the social media? Everyone knows that it’s party tradition that the Deputy President addresses the Wanita, Youth and Puteri wings every year. Muhyiddin can mention a million times about his past contributions to Umno but to no avail. Many may remember or even appreciate but what’s he doing about it now? What’s his contribution to bringing about changes?
Shahbudin, in reiterating that Muhyiddin’s absence from the Umno meeting on November 24 shows that he’s not serious enough, implied that after being sacked from the Cabinet, this was no time for him to keep quiet as Umno Deputy President. “If he wants to keep quiet, he should have kept quiet from the beginning and not get sacked from the Cabinet. Having spoken up and been sacked, he should not only continue to speak up but move into action.”
Again, the analyst urged that Muhyiddin move into action, continue the struggle and attack, attack, and attack. “No matter how long he has been in Umno, Muhyiddin should know by now that politics is all about kill, or be killed. It’s useless just saying that no one can shut him up and that he will continue to speak up.”
“Speaking up, and that too only once in a way, isn’t enough. He must be seen as doing much more for the sake of the party, government and the people.”
