Zahid pledges RM500k for school if BN wins, says opposition ‘dry taps’

S'WAK POLLS Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has pledged RM500,000 for a school in Miri if BN candidate Lee Kim Shin wins in the Senadin constituency.
"I am weighing the allocation for the SMK Riam Road, the only condition is that BN wins," he said, whispering the caveat into the microphone.
This is on top of the RM1 million in allocations the deputy prime minister approved for two schools and RM200,000 for a night market in the nearby Pujut constituency tonight
He made the development promises while visiting a night market to campaign for Pujut candidate Hii King Chiong.
Zahid promised that more projects would come if Hii wins, including those involving the Rural and Regional Development Ministry.
These allocations, he said, were not pledged just because of the election, but for the continued development of Sarawak.
"Maybe the other side will accuse me of all sorts of things, but we want assemblypersons who can get allocations and they must come from BN.
"These allocations will be distributed not in cash, but projects. We don't play with cash, projects benefit the people."
He added that if Sarawakians vote for the opposition, they will only get “water taps" which are not connected to a reservoir for allocations.

The Umno acting deputy president also expressed concern that there might not be any Chinese ministers in the state government if the community does not elect Chinese BN leaders.
He then allayed the concerns of Muslim voters, saying they would still be taken care of by the Chinese BN representatives.
