NAJIB CHECKMATES ZAHID - NOT DR M: UMNO'S NEW 'DEAD MAN WALKING', DID FOOLISH DPM BELIEVE ROSMAH WOULD LET HIM BE PM?

‘He may even move against Zahid and replace him with his cousin, Hisham.’
Ferdtan: We are not surprised with the actions taken by Umno supreme council to sack former DPM Muhyiddin Yassin, former Kedah MB Mukhriz Mahathir and the suspension of vice-president Mohd Shafie Apdal, especially after BN’s success in winning the recent by-elections in Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar.
This meant that PM Najib Razak had been transformed from a ‘dead man walking’ to a more alive situation, where he was confident enough to remove his erstwhile former deputy.
We saw it coming when Muhyiddin was character-assassinated by pro-Najib blogger RPK (Raja Petra Kamarudin) who exposed his alleged infidelity (which occurred many years before he became DPM) with a married woman.
It was a ‘same old, same old’ Umno modus operandi. Former DPM Anwar Ibrahim was treated likewise before he was sacked from the party and government, and charged in court for sodomy.
This decisive action by the supreme council in reality benefited DPM Ahmad Zahid Hamidi more as he has one less contender (Muhyiddin) for the top post if Najib is pushed out of the party.
Right now, who is at par or even stronger than Najib in Umno? No prize for guessing - it’s Zahid.
Not Convinced: Yes, Zahid will gain from the sacking of Muhyiddin from the party. However, if Najib is to remain in power for many years to come, he would prefer a less powerful deputy.
Therefore, Zahid will have to watch his back. Otherwise, Najib may even move against Zahid and replace him with his cousin, Hishammuddin Hussien, who is seen as more loyal to the PM.
Anonymous 1890491455255851: Indeed, I can't see how this is disappointing news to Muhyiddin or Mukhriz.
Most people know that Umno is about enrichment of individuals and that is singularly what keeps them loyal. So anyone who speaks out should feel good about themselves.
Umno members have no integrity and have no conscience. Anyone who can be complicit to what this government has been doing is obviously not someone who cares about the state of the nation.
Anonymous 2415891461978791: It is crucial for Umno to purge all those who have the ability to think critically, or who have independent judgement, or the tiniest bit of moral character.
All such members must go, especially those who do not share Umno's dream of being an utterly corrupt and authoritarian kleptocracy.
Rubystar_4037: Muhyiddin, what you did onto others, others now do the same thing to you. Serve you right. All your past misdeeds are catching up on you.
If you are smart, just lie low and do nothing. If you still want to fight, it would mean spending your own money and losing more supporters.
Mukhriz, you only have the mental capacity to be a headmaster in a rural school. All these years it has been Mahathir who propped you up, without whom you are not fit to be a minister or an MB.
Mahathir, please live long enough to see your empire crumbles. All government contracts given to your sons will not be renewed. You propped up your son, you are now the cause of his downfall. Who would have dreamt that Mukhriz would be sacked from Umno?
Now the old devil in you is still thinking hard on how to bring down Najib. There is no hope. If you are smart enough, you let go so that your sons can survive the onslaught.
Najib's Clowns: If Muhyiddin and Mukhriz still have appetite for politics, they should not hesitate to join Amanah.
It will be timely to strength Pakatan Harapan in time for GE14 without being held 'ransom' by Umno-friendly PAS. It is inevitable the political landscape needs reshaping, something which is long overdue.
Sans Blinkers: I hope that Pakatan parties will not start courting Muhyiddin and Mukhriz. Leave them alone to battle it out with Umno.
Pakatan Harapan should go about its business on strengthening itself by recruiting fresh committed members, not political outcasts or sacked leaders because you will not be sure of their commitments to your cause.
Instead, they may try to make use of your party as a platform for personal motives.
Ipoh Pp: Learn from the Brits in their referendum. Boris Johnson and a few others could not see eye to eye with David Cameron on the European Union issue. They are from the same party, the Conservatives.
They campaigned for Britain to quit EU, while Cameron urged Britons to vote to remain. But the dissidents were not sacked from the party.
Grow up, Umno. I see no wrong in criticising a leader if he does something wrong. This is the problem we have in Malaysia. Is also the same in PKR, PAS and DAP - wrong to fault or criticise the leader.
Anticonmen: This shows that they cannot tolerate any criticism which is actually a citizen's right in the constitution. In a true democracy, the government will defend your right to criticise them.
Hang Jebat: To be frank, in any other country Najib would have been history. Malaysia is really weird. Take heart Muhyiddin and Mukhriz. Be steadfast and resolute. The day of reckoning will come.
