PETALING JAYA: After a group of youths recently apologised for scaling the “IPOH” signage, another youth has since emerged on social media pulling off the same stunt.
Known as “kerabupauh” on Instagram, the youth has been pictured standing atop the letter “P”, while another shows him snapping pictures of himself with a selfie stick.
Both pictures were taken on top of the Jalan Kuala Kangsar landmark. The four letters are said to be over 100 metres tall, equivalent to the height of a building of about 30 to 40 stories high.
Another picture had also emerged depicting the defiant youth sitting under the Gunung Lang Recreational Park signboard, which is similar to the “IPOH” signage.
“I apologise for merely wearing Japanese slippers,” the caption read in Bahasa Malaysia.
Recently, pictures and a video of eight youths climbing the giant “IPOH” sign went viral on social media, including on Instagram and YouTube.
The group also recorded themselves lying on a hammock, tied to the sign’s steel framework.
In a reaction to the pictures, the Ipoh City Council (MBI) issued a statement saying it had not received any application to climb the signboard.
The group subsequently apologised publicly for their stunts. -FMT
