Health DG: Jong-nam's family yet to provide DNA sample

Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Kim Jong-nam's family has yet to step forward to provide a DNA sample to confirm the identity and to claim the body.
"The analysis on the post-mortem is not completed yet. For now, we do not have the family's DNA and health records, we are still waiting on the embassy," Noor Hisham said in a press conference at Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) today.
Last night, the press congregated at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) as they awaited the supposed arrival of Jong-nam's son, Kim Han-sol, who is 21 years old.
It was understood that Han-sol would be arriving in Malaysia last night via an AirAsia flight from Macau to provide his DNA sample to confirm the identity of the body.
However, the press was not able to confirm Han-sol's arrival in Malaysia.
The police previously said Malaysian authorities will not hand over Jong-nam's body until they obtain a sample from a family member to confirm the identity of the body.

The police have also given two weeks for Jong-nam's family to provide a DNA sample.
On Feb 13, it was reported that Jong-nam was at KLIA2 to board a flight to Macau when he was allegedly poisoned by two women.
Jong-nam, who was using the name Kim Chol on his passport, reportedly died on the way to Putrajaya Hospital shortly after.- Mkini
