Jasa chief alleges conspiracy in FGV

Special Affairs Department (Jasa) director-general Mohd Puad Zarkashi alleged there is a conspiracy within Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) to make its suspended chief executive officer (CEO) the "fall guy".
Puad claimed that this was to protect those aligned to the previous regime within FGV, despite the transfer of its former chairperson Mohd Isa Abdul Samad to Land Public Transport Commission (Spad), according to New Straits Times.
"I have learnt that there are efforts to put all the blame on Zakaria Arshad and to force his resignation or sacking.
"I question the motive behind this and believe that some individuals in the group are doing this so that they can appear to be innocent," Puad was quoted as saying in Batu Pahat today.
A crisis broke out in FGV after the board of directors, led by Mohd Isa, ordered Zakaria to go on leave for allegedly failing to comply with corporate governance rules.
Zakaria later accused the board of directors of trying to make "ridiculous" deals which the board denied.

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak subsequently tasked former minister Idris Jala to investigate the tussle which culminated with Mohd Isa's transfer and Zakaria facing the disciplinary board.
Puad insisted that FGV needed a "total cleansing" including the removal of FGV board members who were previously appointed by Mohd Isa.
"Hence, I am asking Idris who is investigating the FGV spat to carry out an extensive investigation on the ‘conspiracy’, as it is a threat to FGV’s future," he said.- Mkini
