Don’t speculate, let police probe assault, Hindraf leader told

© Provided by MToday News Sdn Bhdannuarr-musaPETALING JAYA: Hindraf chairman P Waythamoorthy should not assume the assault on him was to stop him from supporting the opposition, says Umno information chief Annuar Musa.

“No one should speculate. It could be personal,” he told FMT.

He said there were a lot of people who were verbally attacking the government “left and right which is becoming common”.

However, everyone had the right to be protected, he added.

Annuar advised Waythamoorthy to lodge a police report to allow proper investigations.

Two men on Aug 16 attacked Waythamoorthy in his office in Seremban and he speculated it was politically motivated to stop him from supporting the opposition.

Waythamoorthy’s lawyer, S Karthigesan, said the two men had come to the office about 3.50pm yesterday on the pretext of making a delivery.

Karthigesan said Waythamoorthy’s wife, who was present, was also attacked by the men, who grabbed her gold chain and mobile phone.
