Darell Leiking, Stick To The Facts!

Darell Leiking, stick to the facts! Your long-winded statement is full of rhetoric and devoid of facts. Let’s call a spade a spade. Is Shafie innocent or guilty? RM1.5 billion of taxpayers’ money has disappeared into thin air. Do you not wish to know who stole it? So cut the crap and stick to the facts. And let the court decide if Shafie is innocent of stealing the RM1.5 billion. After all, is that not what your party is fighting for, the truth?

NO HOLDS BARRED
Raja Petra Kamarudin
Darell Leiking has proven he is a true politician. He has mastered the art of talking a lot but saying nothing, as you can see from his long and nonsensical statement below.
First of all, Darell calls Anwar Ibrahim the ‘DeFacto President’ of PKR. Is there such a post? Does the party constitution provide for that? Does that mean Anwar and not Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail makes all the decisions and she has no power or authority? Since Anwar did not stand for election and was never voted into the office of ‘DeFacto President’ does this mean PKR does not practice democracy? What does the Registrar of Societies (RoS) have to say about an illegal position in the party that is not registered with the RoS? Will that make PKR in violation of the law?
Next Darell says Anwar Ibrahim was unjustly imprisoned based on a “fabricated charge under Sodomy II”. Is this not contempt of court? Is Darell saying the judges are all crooked and were bribed into sending Anwar to jail? How could the many courts find Anwar guilty if he is innocent unless all the judges are a bunch of crooks. Is this what Darell is implying?
As for the rest, Darell is talking nonsense. MACC has not charged Shafie Apdal yet and at the moment we do not know whether he is going to be charged. If he is charged then he will have his day in court. If he is not guilty the court will free him like what has happened to so many opposition leaders the last 19 years since 1998.
In fact, more opposition leaders have won their cases against the government than the government has won cases against the opposition. Even those opposition leaders who sued the government-owned mainstream newspapers have won. If a score is taken it would probably be 75:25 in favour of the opposition.
Since the government has lost more cases than it won is this the mark of a corrupt judiciary? Why not list down the cases the opposition won versus the cases they lost and let us see what the score is. If Anwar is innocent, as Darell says, why did he not take the stand and testify at his trial and plead his innocence? Why did he ask for a postponement umpteen times and drag on his case for years? Why did he not ask his supposedly one dozen alibi witnesses to testify after submitting their names as witnesses? Is it because the CCTV can tear down his alibi, which he only found out about later?

When I was the Vice President of PKR I shed tears when seeing the then party DeFacto President, Anwar Ibrahim, being unjustly imprisoned based on a “fabricated charge under Sodomy II”

MEDIA STATEMENT
20 October 2017
In reference to the detention order made against the party President of Parti Warisan Sabah, Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal, I maintained that it is politically motivated intended to harass and prevent any possible change of State Government at the soon to be held 14th General Election by halting the growing support by Sabahans toward Warisan.
When I was the Vice President of PKR, I shed tears when seeing the then party DeFacto President, Anwar Ibrahim being unjustly imprisoned based on a “fabricated charge under Sodomy II” and the charge was created against him not because he is the prime candidate as the new Prime Minister but because he (Anwar) was the sole figure who could had effectively ensured that the three biggest opposition parties at Malaya remained united under Pakatan Rakyat.

Why did Anwar refuse to testify in his own trial and why did his 12 alibi witnesses get cold feet and backed out from testifying?

Likewise, the main reason why the party President of Warisan had been detained based on a highly charged politically fabricated charges of embezzlement is because, in the midst of racial and religious politics spread by many political organizations and individuals causing splits among the electorates in Sabah, he (Shafie) is the factor who could potentially lead the regime change in the State through the unification of all Sabahans from all colour, creed and backgrounds and this fact had actually been highlighted by Bloomberg, an international news agency.
If Sabahans can remember well, there have been barrages of attacks made by Musa Aman and his henchmen right from the start when Shafie and I reorganised Warisan and the political attack was started by Musa during last year’s State Assembly meeting by accusing Shafie for only providing the facility but without the water supply to Pulau Gaya.
His accusation was subsequently rebutted by the Chairman of Parliamentary Accounts Committee (PAC) Datuk Seri Hasan Ariffin who explained that the task to set-up the facility falls under KKLW while the State Government is ultimately responsible to provide the water supply.
Having failed at their first attempt, Musa and his henchmen then accused Shafie for failing to develop the State particularly Semporna when in the first place, it is and had all times been the responsibility of Musa to do so!  Musa conveniently portrayed that as a KKLW Federal Minister, Shafie should have prioritized the development of Semporna.

Would Darell not like to know whether Shafie did or did not steal RM1.5 billion of the rakyat’s money?

This again had proved unsuccessful when the Secretary General of Warisan, Loretto Padua Jr. rebutted the accusation made against Shafie rendering Ramlee Marhaban coming to the rescue of Musa by pointing it out that Sabah is progressing under the leadership of Musa with poverty having been reduced and development could be seen all over Sabah.
Hence, isn’t this is a complete paradox on the part of Musa’s own accusation / statement? If he had been successful in developing other parts of Sabah as claimed by Marhaban, then why did he (Musa) alleged that Semporna was not developed except for the obvious reason that he maliciously and purposely left Semporna out of any development?
And in the process, Ainal Fattah and Iskandar Zulkarnain have both accused Shafie for trying to take full advantage of Sabah’s right, particularly the MA63 issue, when both of them knew it very well that MA63 activists and supporters believe that Warisan is the only credible political platform available in the State that can effectively implement the terms of the agreement immediately upon forming the new State Government.
The attempt made by Ainal and Iskandar to discredit Shafie within the KDM community on the MA63 issue had been unsuccessful despite being given wide coverage in the local dailies because both have failed to realized it that MA63 is not a populist issue that could be manipulated by Shafie but a State’s safeguard and none have ever attempted the Statewide roadshows as big as the ones held by Warisan in bringing the West and East Coast together for the actual manifestation of that safeguard.
Finally, we have the accusation made by some quarters which I presumed being sponsored by BN with the sole task to discredit Shafie that he failed to eradicate the PTI issue at the East Coast of Sabah and having taken part in the ‘Projek IC’.

If Darell is so upset about Projek IC and the PTI scandal why was Mahathir made the Pakatan Chairman when it has been proven Mahathir was behind it?

This again proved unsuccessful when Warisan leaders and many other supporters explained it that the task to eradicate PTI issues at the East Coast should be shouldered by Musa Aman, the same way as Chong Kah Kiat had effectively dispensed that responsibility during his tenure as Chief Minister.
And as for the allegation that Shafie had taken part in the Projek IC, Warisan had challenged those making the claims to acquire a copy of the book by Chong Eng Leong entitled “Lest We Forget” that had been tendered during the RCI hearing on Illegal Immigrants in Sabah and which book had fully explained to the Sabahans who are and were the actual perpetrators of the  Projek IC scandal.
All these  attempts to discredit Shafie within a period of less than one year, he had been portrayed as if having a Prime Minister’s powers and can do anything for Sabah while Musa Aman is nothing but a second fiddle player in developing and protecting the State. Hence when all these attempts failed, there is only one way to stop Shafie’s influence and Warisan’s growing support by coming out with the fabricated charges and his detention is the last bid by UMNO to prevent any real threat on possible regime change.
But will this detention stop the regime change from taking place in Sabah? Sabah’s political history had shown us over and over again that when there exist any attempt to stop or restrain the peoples’ support for change from taking place (which could be seen during the USNO’s dictatorial governance which lead it to its downfall at the hand of Berjaya), then change itself is inevitable. And Sabah’s political history will become a beacon for Warisan party members and supporters to continue to struggle for regime change in the State and I can assure to all Sabahans that there is no way we will be intimidated by all these harassments and threats because our conscience is clear and we have nothing to hide.
If corruption eradication is the main priority for SPRM, then Warisan will be very supportive with that effort and we will be going all out against all the corrupted individuals in the State because we have nothing to be afraid of nor to hide !
