PSM is the one bullying us, cries Perak DAP chief

Perak DAP chief Nga Kor Ming has defended criticisms against the party for its plans to contest against incumbent Sungai Siput MP Dr Michael Jeyakumar Devaraj in the next general election.
Nga said the perception of DAP as a "big" party bullying Jeyakumar's "small" PSM was untrue, but that PSM was victimising DAP instead.
PSM is currently at odds with DAP and its allies in Pakatan Harapan, claiming to have been left out of the negotiation table for seats.
In response, PSM has announced that it will be contesting as a third force in a number of seats against both Harapan and BN.
In Perak, the socialist party plans to defend Sungai Siput under its own banner, as well as contest for the Batu Gajah parliamentary seat and five other state seats, including Jelapang and Malim Nawar.
Nga said all the other seats besides Sungai Siput had been won by DAP, and thus PSM's move was an act of provocation.

"With due respect to Jeyakumar (photo), our door for negotiation is always open to PSM. But they refuse to meet us.
"Instead they go and announce that they're contesting our seats...It is they who are bullying us, running down our candidates openly," he said.
He added that Perak DAP has been "very patient" with PSM, and had not attacked them as they still hope to negotiate.
He also said that if PSM is sincere in being friendly to Harapan, the party should contest in Umno seats instead.
Jeyakumar has been contesting in Sungai Siput since 1999. In that year's election, he contested under the DAP logo.
From 2004 onwards, he contested under the PKR logo, and has held the seat since 2008.
He had been offered to contest under either the PKR or DAP flag again in the next election, but said Harapan's terms for the rest of PSM was unfavourable.
It is rumoured that DAP is planning to field Sungkai state assemblyperson A Sivanesan in Sungai Siput in the next election.- Mkini
