Kelantan PAS does not see any difference in the lives of the people in the state under the administration of former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad or current premier Najib Abdul Razak.
State PAS secretary Che Abdullah Mat Nawi said this is because of the Umno factor.
"Mahathir used to be Umno president, Najib is the president now, the policy is the same.
"Kelantan has been discriminated against from the day Mahathir was Umno president, until now," he told a press conference in Kota Bharu last night, when asked about the difference in Kelantan under Mahathir and Najib's respective administrations.
Che Abdullah, who is also a state exco member, said among the restrictions imposed on Kelantan, by Mahathir (photo) during his time, was the implementation of the Syariah Criminal Code II.
"Although it has been approved at the state level, it cannot be fully implemented until now.
"We have also yet to see (oil) royalty given to the people of Kelantan, there are no highways, no ports.
"All these are the rights of the people of Kelantan. Whether it's Mahathir or Najib, it is the same (for us)," he said.
The Wakaf Bharu state assemblyperson also said that the Kelantanese folk, which comprise 95 percent Muslim-Malays, should be given the priority they deserve.- Mkini
