Husam hopes Kelantan gov't will be fair over funding, too

Amanah vice-president Husam Musa hopes that the Kelantan government will be "fair" and allow him to access funds meant for the Salor state constituency.
Husam, who is the Salor state assemblyperson, said today that he would attempt to apply for the funds tomorrow following several statements made by PAS leaders on the situation in Selangor.
Over the past week, several PAS leaders including president Abdul Hadi Awang had complained about difficulties faced by PAS lawmakers in accessing funding from the Selangor government.
The Selangor government provides an annual allocation to all lawmakers for development projects in their respective constituencies, as does the Kelantan government.
In view of the comments from these PAS leaders, Husam, in a sarcastic retort, said it was likely that his privilege as a Kelantan lawmaker would be restored soon.
"I would like to express my gratitude to the PAS president and Kelantan exco for seeking justice on my behalf.
"Tomorrow, I will submit my list of funding needed by the Salor constituents.
"I hope the Selangor government will act fairly and in a democratic fashion (while emulating) the Islamic government of PAS in Kelantan," he said.

Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali (photo) has urged any lawmakers who have trouble with accessing state funds to either clear the air with their respective district officers or see him personally.
Azmin suggested that the complaints likely stemmed from administrative issues.
Selangor PAS commissioner Sallehen Mukhyi told Malaysiakini that there were no such problems last month.
Husam, who was once PAS vice-president, was sacked from the party in 2016. He now leads the Kelantan chapter of Amanah, a PAS splinter party.- Mkini
