The hypocrisy of Anina Saadudin

A few days ago, Anina Saadudin, former Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia member, urged Malay voters to vote for a party that would ensure the survival of their future generations.
“The Malays are split among five parties - Umno, Bersatu, Amanah, PAS and PKR. From a big race, we are now split into small groups. This is dangerous for our race. We need to think about the survival of the Malay race in this country.
“So when you vote, don’t just vote for yourself but think about voting for the future, vote for your children...” said Anina.
Two years ago, I wrote an article applauding Anina when she filed a suit against Prime Minister Najib Razak, demanding that he account for the RM2.6 billion channelled into his personal bank account.
It read:
“Anina deserves a standing ovation for her remarkable show of courage and integrity in our country today. As a member of a party that emphasises blind loyalty above all else, she was the only one who dared to stand tall. Among 3.6 million cowards, she is the only one with balls the size of Jupiter.”
“Anina is a perfect example of what a leader should be. Through these difficult times, Anina has broken many barriers. She serves as a role model for women (and men included). She is a leader with character, courage and commitment who is willing to defend the honour of our nation, even at her own expense.”
Sadly today, the same woman whom I thought was a trustworthy leader with integrity and courage, appears to be nothing but a hypocrite who has swallowed her own words.
Back in September 2015, The Malay Mail Online reported Anina as saying:
“It is not about me, it is not an individual fight. I’m not Anina for myself. I’m Malaysian, I’m everybody, I cannot claim this as a personal fight against the prime minister.
“This is my country, this is my heart, all other people surrounding me are all my friends and family, you are my family because we are Malaysians...”
Mud on own face
Yet today, the same woman who claimed to be a “nobody” without the support of the Malaysian population of over 30 million, is appealing to the Malays to support their own kind; the same woman who urged Malaysians to fight for the truth is now asking the Malays to fight for their own skin.
Anina, do we, the same people you called friends and family, who supported you when you were flushed out from Umno, no longer matter you? While you are concerned of the future survival of your own kind, have you not thought of the survival of the rest of us? Or perhaps we no longer matter to you?
Oh Anina, what happened to you? What made you throw mud on your face and disgrace your own credibility?
I thought you were living proof that despite our world growing more volatile and less predictable, every person serving our country, regardless of race, colour, gender, religion or sexual orientation, will rise to step forward with courage and commitment to show our true patriotism towards our beloved nation.
Oh how wrong I was.
Clearly, Anina is not the serikandi (heroine) Malaysians thought she was. Instead, she has proven herself to be nothing but a true product of Umno.
Shame on you, Anina!
