MIC list: No Jelebu swap after uproar, Kayveas left out in the cold

GE14 | A proposal for Umno to hand over its traditional seat of Jelebu to MIC in exchange for Port Dickson (formerly Teluk Kemang) has been aborted after Umno grassroots threatened to suspend their election operations.
Meanwhile, MyPPP president M Kayveas appeared to have been left out in the cold as the parliamentary seat of Cameron Highlands has been confirmed for MIC.
These were among the key observations from MIC's candidate list from the 14th general election which was released today.
According to the list, MIC information chief VS Mogan will contest in Port Dickson.
Former minister Rais Yatim had spoken out against handing over his former seat of Jelebu to MIC, which was speculated to allow Umno's Mohd Isa Abdul Samad to contest in Port Dickson, his political base.
MIC's official announcement that it will maintain Port Dickson has put that speculation to rest.
Another notable announcement was that MIC Youth chief C Sivarraajh will be contesting in the parliamentary seat of Cameron Highlands, which Kayveas had repeatedly laid claim on.
Kayveas had even suggested that he may take MyPPP out of BN if he was not granted the seat.
He previously revealed that he was offered the parliamentary seat of Segambut instead, but had refused.
Earlier today, Federal Territories BN announced MyPPP vice-president Loga Bala Mohan as the candidate for Segambut.
Loga confirmed to Malaysiakini that Segambut is the only seat MyPPP will be contesting in the 14th general election.
However, this leaves Kayveas without a seat.
Meanwhile, MIC president S Subramaniam will defend his parliamentary seat of Segamat while MIC deputy president SK Devamany will contest in Sungai Siput, which he lost in the last general election.
The full candidate list for MIC is as follows:
