Musa hails formation of presidential council for 3 BN parties

The council further strengthens unity and solidarity among Sabah BN component parties, says Chief Minister Musa Aman.
Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman said the three BN component parties represent the Kadazandusun, Murut and Rungus communities.
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman has welcomed the formation of a leaders’ council for three Barisan Nasional component parties in the state.
The three BN component parties that represent the Kadazandusun, Murut and Rungus communities have agreed to work in unison for the benefit of all in Sabah and the country.
Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), United Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun Organisation (Upko) and Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) have formed a presidential council to strengthen unity, understanding and cooperation in political matters for the benefit of the multi-ethnic society, especially among indigenous communities in East Malaysia.
The parties, represented by their presidents, Joseph Pairin Kitingan (PBS), Wilfred Madius Tangau (Upko) and Joseph Kurup (PBRS), today met Musa, who is Sabah BN chairman, to hand over an official report on the formation of the parties’ presidential council here today.
Present was PBS deputy president Maximus Ongkili, a statement from the Sabah chief minister’s press office said today.
The parties’ secretaries-general Johnny Mositun (PBS), Donald Mojuntin (Upko) and Johnson Tee (PBRS) were also present.
In its report, the council said the three parties had attended a retreat themed “Tatap BN” on Feb 26 in Kota Kinabalu to discuss feedback from the grassroots who wanted stronger unity among BN component parties representing the Kadazandusun and Murut community.
The council pledged its undivided support to Prime Minister Najib Razak and Musa.
“We are united in our struggle and support for the national and state leaderships,” said the council.
The first presidential council meeting held on April 17 saw all three component parties accepting the terms of reference for the council’s objectives, with hopes to further strengthen BN as it gears for the 14th general election.
“All the components parties, including the KDMR parties, are unwavering in their commitment to serve the people of Sabah as one united front. Sabah BN is also united in our resolve to deliver the seats and bring victory to BN,” Musa said.
Another role will be in providing undivided support to all Sabah BN representatives selected to secure their victory in the coming elections.  - FMT
